Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in therapy?

Therapy is a collaborative process between a client and therapist. The therapist provides a supportive, safe environment where you can talk openly with someone who is non-judgmental, objective, and attentive. Together you will work on goals, develop solutions, and learn skills to improve your quality of life. Therapy offers support when you are going through difficult times or dealing with normal day-to-day life.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

Every person and situation is unique. Brief therapy typically is from 12-16 weeks depending on the client and the issue. Long-term therapy may take 6 months to a year. Weekly sessions are most beneficial to establish a therapeutic relationship and effectively work on your goals for treatment. However, some clients prefer to come in every other week or even once a month depending on their situation.

Do you accept insurance?

I accept Optum/United Healthcare. Otherwise, you will need to pay for service at the time services are rendered. We can provide you with a receipt each month that you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Some insurance providers may reimburse all or a portion of the fee, however, some do not reimburse at all. You may want to contact your insurance provider directly for more information prior to your first visit.
